Ceremony
We offer two exceptionally unique settings to tie the knot.
Choose from the tranquil riverside garden setting here at The Douglas, or immerse yourself in the romance and lushness of the vines at Basalt Wines vineyard in nearby Killarney.
Eat, Drink & Be Merry
At The Douglas we're proud to collaborate with two of the Western District's leading caterers for our events. Our chefs can design a unique and memorable menu - whether you're after a classic sit-down affair, or a more flexible cocktail-style event.
From Bollinger Champagne to Basalt merlot, local or European wines, The Douglas has it all. Your host and local wine-maker Shane Clancey will happily match a sophisticated drinks package to compliment your menu.
Accommodation
As well as providing a fabulous location for your wedding, Douglas on River can offer a uniquely intimate accommodation package for your family and friends.
Our River House and Garden House rooms are ideal for the family of the bride or groom. Staying at the venue allows guests to prepare for the big day in a relaxed environment.
Each of the houses feature lovely spacious lounge areas overlooking the water and gardens, and are an ideal setting for the ladies to be pampered in the lead-up to the ceremony.
Make the most of the marquee and our gorgeous grounds with a leisurely day-after breakfast or brunch for your guests at The Douglas (no extra cost).
Setting up for a wedding is a big job! So to make life a little easier we'll organise your marquee a few days earlier, leaving plenty of time to put those final touches on what will be a stunning day by the water.
As this preparation has some impact on the B&B, we do require a minimum 2 nights stay for both the River House and Garden House.
